Community Gathers for 26th Annual Spiritual Walk in Winnebago
June 9, 2025
Winnebago, NE – Under clear skies and with a shared spirit of reflection and healing, 327 community members came together, May 30th, for the 26th Annual Spiritual Walk, hosted by Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System’s (WCHS) Recovery Program. The event took place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Land of Wellness.
The walk honors the memory of loved ones lost to substance misuse and reaffirms the community’s ongoing commitment to recovery, wellness, and support for one another. Families, elders, youth, and healthcare advocates walked side by side, united in purpose and spirit.
“This walk is more than just a tradition, it’s a journey we take together each year to remember, to heal, and to encourage one another,” said Jayme Moore, Recovery Outreach Coordinator. “It’s a powerful reminder that no one walks this path alone.”
Throughout the walk, participants engaged in moments of reflection and prayer. The event fostered connection and offered a space of comfort and strength to those who have been personally affected by substance misuse.
WCHS extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this year’s walk a success. Their presence and dedication underscore the strength and resilience of the Winnebago community.
