Community Crisis Response

The term "Kikijire" is Ho-Chunk for "help each other," which is the name of our Community Crisis Response program. This 24/7 service is a mobile crisis team that provides immediate behavioral health support to individuals experiencing a mental health, substance use, or emotional crisis within the Winnebago community.

Bringing Care to You in Crisis

Rather than requiring individuals or families to travel to an emergency department or involve law enforcement when it may not be necessary, our crisis responders meet people where they are (at home, school, work, or another safe community location) to provide timely support, compassionate intervention, and connection to care. We know that every crisis is different; our culturally grounded approach provides personalized trauma-informed care.
