"Kasu" is a traditional Ho-Chunk dice game involving bone dice, a bowl, and counting sticks, where players score points based on the dice landing in specific patterns.
Materials:
Dice: The game uses bone dice, typically with two different types: some marked with stars and others with inset circles.
Bowl: A wooden bowl is used to hold and shake the dice.
Counting Sticks: Players use sticks to keep track of their scores.
Gameplay:
- Players take turns shaking the bowl with the dice and tossing them into the air.
- The dice are caught in the bowl, and players score points based on the arrangement of the dice. Specific patterns, such as 8-0, 7-1, or 6-2, earn points, while other arrangements score zero.
- The game continues until all the counting sticks are awarded, and the player with the most sticks wins.
Scoring:
8-0, 7-1, or 6-2 earn points
We hope to see you there!
